Erzurum

TEKNOFEST, Turkey's premier technology and aviation event, has welcomed over 1.5 million contestants, a remarkable increase from approximately 20,000 in its inaugural year in 2018. This event promotes technological and scientific innovation among youth, enhancing their entrepreneurial, creativity, and engineering skills.

During the "16th International MEB Robot Competition," TEKNOFEST Secretary General Muhammet Saymaz shared insights about the event's growth. He highlighted that the 2024 event set a competitor application record, with over 1.65 million entries compared to just 20 in its first year. Saymaz emphasized the incredible potential of Turkish youth when given opportunities to explore technology and innovation.

Upcoming TEKNOFEST Events in Cyprus and Istanbul

He announced plans to organize TEKNOFEST in all Turkish cities and internationally, including upcoming events in Cyprus and Istanbul. Saymaz noted a significant cultural shift in society's perception of science and technology, moving from skepticism to embracing innovation and creativity.

Quality and Quantity Growth

Saymaz pointed out a remarkable increase in both the quantity and quality of participants in aviation-related competitions. For instance, the transition rate from assembly to launch in rocket competitions soared from 30% to 85%. He believes that this trend will lead to even greater achievements in the coming years.

Reflecting on the values promoted by TEKNOFEST, Saymaz stated that the goal is to inspire youth to engage deeply with technology and contribute to high-tech advancements for Turkey's future.

Team member Barış Küçük, who participated with a group in the Digital Technology Competition, expressed their commitment to participating in future competitions to advance their skills and contribute to Turkey's technological development.
