A new 50-watt DC/DC converter, developed by the Turkish defense industry and priced at approximately $20,000 per kilogram, will make its debut at SAHA EXPO. This converter addresses energy conversion needs across various electronic systems, from munitions to aircraft.

SAHA EXPO, organized by SAHA Istanbul—the largest industrial cluster in Turkey and Europe—will take place from October 22-26 at the Istanbul Expo Center under the auspices of the Presidency and supported by six ministries.

Anova R&D Technologies, responsible for developing military-grade AC/DC and DC/DC converters, will introduce this compact new member of its product family, which is half the size of a matchbox.

Ibrahim Altunsoy, Electronic Design Director at Anova, noted that the company began developing such converters in 2016 following increased demand. They faced supply challenges, prompting them to innovate in this field.

First Mission in Munitions

This product has already completed verification and has been successfully utilized in a new munitions design. Altunsoy emphasized their commitment to ensuring compatibility with existing systems while enhancing efficiency and performance.

The new product is aimed at compact use across numerous applications, including electro-optical systems and aircraft, reflecting a strong market potential, with prices ranging from $15,000 to $20,000 per kilogram.

Altunsoy expressed excitement about introducing it at SAHA EXPO, as it allows for direct interaction with users to refine product development further.
