The official account of X has announced a modification to the "blocking users" feature. According to the change, users who are blocked by a non-private account will be able to see that user's posts, but they won't have the ability to interact, such as liking or commenting.

The announcement states, "The blocking feature can be used by users to share harmful or private information about those they have blocked," highlighting that this update aims to enhance "transparency" on the platform.

For users concerned about who can view their posts, it is recommended to keep their accounts private.

Since purchasing the platform in 2022, billionaire Elon Musk has been known to voice criticisms regarding the "blocking feature."

Possible Violation of App Store and Google Play Requirements

Media reports suggest that the changes implemented by X could violate the guidelines of App Store and Google Play. These platforms require social media applications to provide users with the ability to filter out "harassment or bullying." However, no statements have been made regarding this issue by these platforms yet.

In 2013, a similar feature was attempted on Twitter, now rebranded as X, allowing blocked users the opportunity to view and interact with others’ posts. However, this implementation was removed within hours due to criticism.
