Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that PTT, Turkey's century-old entity, is progressing towards becoming a global brand. He emphasized that PTT is providing postal and cargo services using vehicles that are seven times more cost-effective in terms of energy costs, with plans to increase this fleet to 300 by the end of the year, including the promotion of electric scooter usage for distribution services.
In an announcement marking the 184th anniversary of PTT, founded on October 23, 1840, Uraloğlu highlighted the company's restructuring aligned with technological developments, transitioning to a private joint stock company in 2013. He noted PTT's efforts to maintain its central position in the communications sector, adapting to recent advancements.
Service in Remote Areas
Uraloğlu pointed out PTT's extensive network, with 3,643 workplaces and nearly 39,000 personnel, serving citizens in 1,343 locations devoid of any banks or cargo services. In areas lacking bank ATMs, PTT offers services via 61 PTTMATIKs.
Furthermore, PTT is active in international postal handling, reaching over 210 global destinations, and is a member of organizations like PostEurop and EuroMed.
Enhanced Online Services
Under the new e-collection service, various payments, including traffic fines and taxes, can be processed online, with the system reflecting transactions immediately. Additionally, PTT offers insurance products and plans to expand payment options for parking and fuel purchases through the HGS system.
With a focus on innovation, PTT aims to enhance its service delivery with advanced logistic systems and increased use of energy-efficient vehicles by year-end.
